Boisterous Boys in Blue

Spirit, blue and football all describe Creighton Prep’s Blue Army perfectly. The Blue Army leads the Birdcage, Prep’s student section, in song and chant as the football team takes to the field.

Juniors Charlie Magee, Connor Artz, Aaron Masek, Henry Haske, Paul Gordon, Will Steinauer, Mitch Kamm, Nick Morgensen, Andrew Hoover, Jack Mausbach, Grant Shepherd and Bobby Lawton make up the 12 man cheering team.

“Being able to lead cheers on the sidelines in front of the greatest student section in the nation is what the Blue Army is all about,” said Magee.

The Blue Army paints their body from head to toe in blue body paint to distinguish themselves from others. They lead the team out onto the field with one of the members holding a large Prep flag.

“We do our best to pump up the Birdcage, parents and players,” said Magee

Nobody knows when the Blue Army was established but all the members know that it is a tradition for Creighton Prep Football.

“I am on Blue Army because it is a great tradition of Prep and I love going to the games on Friday nights,” said Magee.

The boys in blue will be on the sidelines every Friday night as they rile up the Birdcage, parents and fans.
