The Creighton Prep Junior Jays are looking to rebound from their heartbreaking loss last week to Millard North, with a victory against the Papillion La-Vista Monarchs. The Monarchs (0-4)  have  loss to a common foe, Millard North. On paper, the Jays look like a heavy favorite. They average more points, more yards, and have a better record than the Monarchs.

“It is nice to have confidence, but you do not want to overlook any opponent,” said senior tight end Joey Hagge.

This game has some playoff implications. With two losses already, the Jays can not afford to drop a third game. The Jays already have one district loss against the Mustangs, two district losses would make it tough to make a good playoff seed.

“In order to get to where we want to go, winning out is our best option,” said Hagge.

The Junior Jays are using both of their close loses to help fuel them to victory. After the loss against Burke, the Jays came out swinging with a 49-0 victory over Fremont. After the 17-12 loss, expect nothing less than perfection from the Jays.

The game is 7 p.m. Friday at Omaha Burke Stadium.
